We are a neighborhood bakery, offering all sorts of treats, including pies, cakes, caneles, sticky buns, almond-glazed pretzels, and more as single order items, and whole cakes and pies as special order items. Come by and have a cup & a slice!

In addition making our own sweet treats, WPA Bakery is the kitchen behind the Hummingbird Cake at Garnett's, the Peanut Butter Pie at The Roosevelt, and the Mexican Chocolate Pie at Ipanema. We have been making some of your favorite desserts (vegan, gluten-free, and otherwise) for years.

WPA Bakery is co-owned by baker David Rohrer and restaurateur Kendra Feather (Ipanema Cafe, Garnett's Cafe, The Roosevelt, Laura Lee's). David was awarded the 2014 Elby for Best Pastry Chef / Baker. Rohrer is also an accomplished local painter.

Our turn-of-the-last-century building at 2707 East Marshall is located in the Church Hill North Old and Historic District. The spot was a confectionary/restaurant for the bulk of the 20th century, first under Louis Shuleeta, and then as Shibley's Inn and the 27th Street Inn (with it's iconic neon sign).

Our sister bakery WPA Southside will be opening at 3414 Semmes Avenue in 2016.
